GARDAG Swings into Action at the George Golf Club, raising much needed funds for Water Monitoring

This year, on World Environment Day, GARDAG (Garden Route Dam Action Group) gave special attention to the restoration of the Kat River, one of two tributaries that flow into the Garden Route Dam, home to the Kat River Nature Reserve and a primary resource for our water supply in the area.

Collaborating for Conservation

Working alongside Friends of the Kat River and the Ward 18 Committee, we are focused on supporting initiatives that protect local rivers in the hopes of preserving our water resources for the future.

Golfing for a Cause

To raise funds for independent water monitoring in this drought sensitive region, we hosted our annual Golf Day, on 5 June at the George Golf Club to ensure that we are able to continue our important work. The event brought together 36 golf players and 11 sponsors, all contributing to our mission of safeguarding local water sources.

A Huge Thank You to Our Sponsors

We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors, including Henque Waste, Makarios Chemicals, Franks Flooring, Blue Planet SA, MMO Law, Hire King, Pangolin, Kloppers, WESSA, Harcourts Eden, SA Breweries, CDV Waardeerders, ESI Attorneys, Sunsolv, Garden Route 101, Geeto, Veltwater, and Dr Patel. Your support makes our work possible.

Join Us in Protecting Our Rivers

We need your help to continue our vital conservation efforts.
Here’s how you can get involved:
•    Participate in cleanups to keep our rivers free from pollution
•    Volunteer with GARDAG and our partner organizations
•    Donate to support independent water monitoring and restoration projects

Together, we can preserve our rivers, protect our water supply, and ensure a sustainable future for our precious water sources.
