Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre is a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term care of raptors in the Garden Route region. Founded in 2018 by Bertus and Lizette Beukes, the centre emerged from their shared passion for bird of prey conservation. Nestled at the base of the Outeniqua Mountains within the botanical gardens of George, it offers both a tranquil setting for healing and an engaging space for education.

The facility is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of injured or displaced birds of prey, many of whom require extended care not typically available in standard veterinary clinics. While the ultimate goal is to release these birds back into the wild, those that cannot be returned due to permanent injury or trauma are given a lifelong home at the sanctuary. Public support is vital to sustaining their work, and donations can be made through PayFast or direct bank transfer. The team actively encourages community involvement, particularly among youth, to help cultivate the next generation of conservation advocates.
