From vintage SJ models to the latest five-door beasts, Jimny owners from across South Africa rolled into Louvain Guest Farm between 25–28 September for the second annual Jimny Gathering. The goal? To make history. And on Saturday the 27th, they did just that.

With the Guinness World Records adjudicator on-site, the countdown began. At the signal, 1,838 doors slammed shut in unison, meeting the strict criteria: at least 250 vehicles, one door closed within five seconds, and occupants inside for the tally to count.

The result? A new world record—and a whole lot of dust, cheers, and Jimny pride.

But the slam was just the start. The four-day festival featured off-road trails curated by Suzuki Safaris and Jimny Drive, wellness activities like yoga and guided walks, and even ceramic Jimny painting with Cape Town’s Clay Café. The Suzuki Safari Town Music Festival in Oudtshoorn brought the vibes, with performances by Jeremy Loops, Karen Zoid, and host Schalk Bezuidenhout—himself a proud Jimny owner.

From the Jimny Gathering Pageant to pop-up tyre repair tents and Checkers’ outdoor shop, the event was a celebration of community, adventure, and the little 4x4 that could.

Suzuki Jimny Brand Marketing Manager Brendon Carpenter summed it up best:
